Article about: I'm looking at adding a type 98 shin gunto to my collection and was wanting further assistance. I've spoken to Bruce about it and I'm curious if these two are handmade or machine made blades

Sorry, can't read the signature other than
    濃州住***
    Nōshū Jū *~da Kane [?] * saku
Made by *~da Kane~ of Nō [modern Gifu Prefecture]

The missing kanji look SIMILAR to
    or ; ; and .

I think the second mystery kanji might be [kane~]

However, I cannot get any hits for
    乎田
    子田 [Koda]
    兼隹

    And any search for
    濃州住*田**作
sho NO results with a 田 surname. [Ikeda 池田 does not fit.]

Hopefully Nick will drop in and read it for us.

For the record (in case of web searches) that first one was Toki Kanemasa:

It is Toki (土岐). It's not strange that a Seki sword has a name Toki on it. Probably to commemorate Toki family. Toki Yorinari (1502–1582) was a Daimyo of Mino.

I agree. I had simply noticed that the first blade on this post hadn’t been translated, so I updated the thread.
