Unit Marked Japanese Bayonet?

Article about: Hey guys, bought this today and diddnt notice the handle stamp until I opened it. I think its an early Type 30 Nagoya bayonet. The scabbard does not seem to have a serial number. The serial

    Perhaps it indicates the 238th infantry division? From what I read they sometimes unit marked the metal at the top of the hilt.

    It may be a school/training bayonet, they had numbers or kanji identifying the institution engraved or stamped into the handle. I don't know enough about it to be definitive just something I've seen before.

    Also not sure regular army personnel would mark up such an important piece of gear by stamping into the wood handle.

    I highly doubt it's a unit number. Could be a rack #, accounting number or as mentioned training
