I do not plan on selling it ever, i was just curious because these Japanese swords appear to be quite valuable. Thank you for the info on dismantling it and the value.

Some military swords, such as the Yasukunito, are worth thousands. Others not so much. It's all in the details.
Must run now ... wife is commenting about time spent at keyboard ... have work to do.
Hello everyone,
I know it has been a while but i have finally got around yo disassembling the sword and here are the symbols. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what they mean and if this means it was man made.
Thanks,
Michael

Tenshozan Tanren made stainless Navy blade. I'm looking at it on my grandson's iPod and can't be sure but will confirm that later and give you the date of manufacture when I can see it on a large screen. Or Guy will beat me to it if he stops by.

Stu
PS: Not a forged blade but still one to have in any Japanese military sword collection.
I really must learn to type faster. Or at least faster than Guy! LOL.

Stu
PS: You will see another like it from my own collection in post 19.
Very cool, thank you!
