    Hi,
    I've owned this sword 30 years. I don't think I have ever
    posted it here for opinions.

I believe it is a NCO sword. It has a machine made blade
(no wavy line) and is completely unmarked. The scabbard
is brown leather over wood. All is in very very nice condition
except for a slight discolor where the blade meets the handle.

I bought this from Dusty Rhodes. He and Mike Naugle were
fixtures on the military show circuit in the US back in the 1980s
    and early 90s.

Please let me know what you think.
I'm sure it has no real value because of the factory
made blade but it does display well.

    Thanks,
    Greg

It is an officers sword. Have you ever removed the tsuka(handle)? Removing it would tell us more about the sword. Marty

    Hello,

It is not an NCO sword. It does appear to be a Japanese Officer sword. The blade is likely semi machine made with some level of hand finishing. Quite different really from an NCO sword blade.

If you have not taken the tsuka (handle) off before we can walk you through the process. It's not difficult but does require some care. Date of manufacture and finishing smith name are often found on the nakago (tang) of the sword.

    Regards,
    Stu

I have had the handle apart. It is completely unmarked.
Sorry for the poor picture. If you need better, I can try later.

    Nice Greg!
As Stu has stated, it is an officer's sword and will still have some value even with a machine made blade.
