Your sword has value, it's a Type 98 officer's. Not an heirloom blade but as has already been said machine made, to some degree anyway. With these condition will be the main determining factor as far as value goes. The Japanese have been breaking these blades, I think it may even be against the law to have one there but I could stand to be corrected (Bob?). Here's a link that may help.
