Can anybody tell me what kind of helmet this is?

This is a leather helmet that resembles the NSKK helmet - but different. I do not know if the badge came with it, or was added later. What do you think? It has a removable ring around the outside for padding. It has two metal grommet vent holes above the ears. It has a 1" hole on each side in the wide strap- to allow for hearing. I can find NO stamp, or writing inside. The strap assembly is nailed onto the shell with small nails.

My first guee is that it is French. I remember some photos of the Blitzkreig into Frnace and it just looks familiar. Just a guess.

Same impression! The tank on the badge looks like a Renault tank.

I FINALLY heard from the guy I bought the helmet from. (he was in the hospital) He tells me it is French, and the emblem is right on the front. He didn't tell me whether it is WW 1, or WW 2. Thanks for all your opinions...

German style helmets and other Counties with many different decals etc. also.
And don't be so cheap.....more than one beer!!
