Hello,

After the fall of Mussolini in 1943, did all the open consulates abroad switch to the RSI regime?
If yes, should this consulate been named RSI and not the Royal consulate in 1944?

Hi,
after the Armistice of september 1943, Italy was split in two, the North became RSI under German control, while the South, namely the areas under Allied control was formally ruled by Royal Government.
Probably the same happened for the Consulates: those in Axis countries responded to RSI, while those in Allied and neutral countries responded to Royal Government.
This could be the explanation.
