Kingdom of Italy Flag

I recently picked up this Kingdom of Italy from 1861-1945 flag for $80 after shipping off ebay. If my limited knowledge is correct, la corona sopra di scudetto (crown over shield) was most often used in Italian military flags. Judging by the faded green field... perhaps this flag was captured in North Africa?

This flag has proven to be quite popular on other forums! I've had numerous trade and sale offers for it.

Popular consensus is that it is vehicle flag taken from North Africa or the Mediterranean!

That is a beautiful flag Joe, made better from possible use in North Africa. You don't see these pop up on the forums very often.

Very nice flag Joe. It's likely that only the green dye has faded.
The red stripe looks as vibrant as the day it was made.........!

I think the heavy fading of the green field may just be down to whatever ingredients they used in the green dye... maybe it was a little less resistant than the red and blue?

Back then, there was no such thing as UV protectant
ingredients for dyes and or stains - except
Polarized sunglasses.........
