Horizontal Wing SA Buckles

I think that it is perhaps somewhat inappropriate to include these SA buckles within the fixed data base, as they are quite odd and decidedly rare.

Here are three "horizontal wing" SA's.

Any more to be added would be most welcome.

In my opinion, they are SA variations and the horizontal wing buckle (please ignore the belt buckle publications), have no SS association whatsoever.

This is an interesting style of SA buckle (and buckles) and quite a lot has been posted, written and published about it and them.

Either form is very rare and highly desirable even from say 5 years ago, so goodness knows what the price of this essentially standard, albeit unusual SA buckle, is worth now.

Very rare and sadly very expensive in my opinion and added to by the nonsense suggestion (in my opinion) that they are SS related.

I would be interested to see any other examples though.

Very rare buckles. For a long time did not see on sale. It is a lot of fakes of these versions.

I too like these particular SA buckles and again, I am sure that they are pure SA and have no connection whatsoever with any other organisation (despite what some publications say).

To my knowledge, as yet not faked or copied.

I know that I keep "banging the drum" on the subject, however I dearly wish that I could find some firm evidence to absolutely confirm when the SA buckle was first worn.

Why do we see so few SA buckles with horizontal wings and/or an upright swastika? The key I now think is the introduction and the design exclusivity of the definitive SS buckle.
