Hi David
Several weeks ago I was interested to know the likely authenticity of steel based SA's and meant to get back to ask for your opinion on my latest if you don't mind. Sadly I don't have the facilities to post an image. Briefly this is a braised C catch Sunwheel with the eagles head midway between the ropes. It's slightly lighter in colour than my other SA's and on the reverse has a prong assembly and ears identical to my other Sunwheel. On the reverse is a raised single circle RZM mark followed by a raised 119. I'd be very grateful for your thoughts on this one. Fairly new to SA's !
Many thanks
Philw
What a great thread... very informative.... Now that I've read all the posts I can take my "Bib" off from drooling in envy of all the great examples posted.. Gwar

Hi David, Again apologies for delay !Yes, the buckle is magnetic and the worn high points reveal a steel base beneath.
The " C" catch is slightly smaller than usual and it won't, for example take a standard Assman hook. It's a lighter creamier colour than my brass SA's. Do you think the RZM 119 designation helpful in any way ?Do you know who was ascribed this number ? Many thanks once again for your thoughts on this one .

Dear Phil
Without wishing to appear overly pedantic, in my opinion it is quite impossible to assess the tantalising buckle that you describe unless we have some images.
