A great looking buckle, I love the marked ones. The 2 styles of horizontal SA are rare and the 35mm version might be the rarest SA. The steel backed brass SA are are very rare. I think David has posted a steel back, I saw a ground dug example in bad condition and I got one in a collection I bought in 2012. Does anyone else have a steel back?

Dear Markus
Congratulions on the acquisition of an indeed, unusually stamped marked SA.
"My rarest buckle" is and with all due respect, perhaps highly subjective.
A super buckle and if it is your most rare, then good for you.
For myself at least, show me a horizontal wing SA and then I will say - the most rarest.
In my opinion stamped markings rate secondary to the obverse design, although again this is a highly subjective assessment as to what is regarded by the collector as rare or not rare.
Regards and best wishes,
David
Hello,
yes i must say the least seen SA variation . Never saw another buckle from this maker bevor.............

Hello, gentlemen ,
we all knows the rare straight wing or steel flat back variations often seen but rare to find ...........
But this RZM 12 in big question , can anyone show another one , or have seen another one ? .........IMO that make it rare ...........

Nice info Wilhelm! Not being a buckle guy what so ever - can someone please explain the "straight wing SA?" Is this the typical political eagle with straight across wings? Sorry - never got into buckles, my knowledge is piss poor on the subject... THANKS!

Yes, I am GWAR (that is possibly my age, but also while often blabla is told).
Remind that 12 is practically always Hahne Witwe and 32 is always Gebr.Hahne.
