SA brass buckle - is it a fake?

Article about: I have been offered this buckle, but am not sure if it is a fake. I thought the prongs should be more pointed, rather than having a 'clipped' look, but see some fairly similar on the sticky.

    Dear David,

Thanks for looking in on this thread. I most certainly will be posting some pics when it arrives - I got a new lens today for the camera, and am itching to give it a workout. I haven't found a direction to my collecting bug yet, although I do like the EK1&2. I have found so many counterfeit items since starting collecting this year, and this forum has saved me a fortune by weeding them out. I am starting to learn the 'trade' and can spot some of the fakes without posting. It has been an education - and I thought this was going to be an easy hobby! Still looking for a nice reasonably priced helmet, and trying to be patient. Europe seems to offer better pricing.

    Regards,
    Alistair Craig

Hi Ben - I've got an SA buckle RZM 119 if that helps with the list. Not too sure of the maker however. Georg Bonitz as been suggested -- is this correct do you know? Many thanks.

Ben, in this thread Markus posted a SA/NSKK buckle stamped RZM 119. So, if PhilW posts a pic as requested he might have a good one:

    HJ buckle - RZM 119

    Cheers -

Quite an interesting thread.. Hope we can gather some more evidence, but for me I'm prone to "Legit" as far as the other threads are concerned. We shall see what the OP has gathered so far .. G

I can't find the fake buckle in the RZM 119 thread. Are you maybe mixing up something?

An unusual request as philw had posed the same question nearly four years ago, and failed to produce images as requested then. Maybe he just has difficulties uploading photos? I too would be interested to see this inquiry come to a conclusive answer. Best regards.
