Hello buckle maniacs. This seller of this buckle sells it as a copy. At first I thought..is it really a fake?

But the more I look at it, I'm leaning to agree with the seller.
The material looks a bit strange I think, the ears are a bit funny and the prongs are sharp but I think that we have seen that before on originals.

So before I put this in our data base of SA copys, I want your opinions.

Thank you so much for your time.

Oh dear Kenny, you should have maintained your first thoughts!

In my opinion, a perfectly original SA.

I think that the buckle has been enthusiastically clean by a water immersion/ultra sonic technique. This if over done causes the composites of brass to "leech", as can be seen by the strange colours and patches on the obverse.

    In time it will revert.

Not one and in my opinion, for the SA fake data base.

    Regards and best wishes,

    David

Haha OK, I have to trust my gut feeling some more.
That cleaning theory can be very true. It sounds logic.

Then I will maybe purchase this one

Thank you very much for your insight!

Also a recently found SA maker marked from a seller who primarily deals mainly in repro items. And to be sure, the price was nice

L u F of course, however and in my opinion, one of the most distinct and instantly recognisable roundels of any SA buckle.

The raised edge that emphasises the profile of the swastika is to my mind aesthetically pleasing.

    A super SA buckle.

    Regards and best wishes,

So it's seems to be a good idea to look at the "repros" and investigate it yourself instead of trusting the dealers when they have the item in the fake section.

Sorry but I missed this post for some reason? Must agree with David, nice buckle and in good condition, in fact the ears and the pin head look like a J D Von Hagen made buckle? Love the LuF marked buckle, in fact any SA buckles as they did not really mark that many
