Hi,
I´d like to ask some of more experienced collectors for a judgement. I really hope this buckle is OK, but would be very pleased for your opinion.
Thank you

Hello Dedman
In my opinion, this 1939 aluminium SS by Assmann is quite original.
I assume that the aluminium claws display the Assmann "kink".
What a strange ageing colour though! What is that surface dirt?
It really does not matter as again and in my opinion, an original and now very desirable buckle.
Here are images of another for comparison.
Regards,
David

THX for your reply,
these are only photos I have. I am intending tu buy this piece and want to be 100% sure. The last thing I need is wasting my money on supporting fake manufacturers and parasites...
But I have no idea what does that dirt on a surface mean...Some paint mybe..
THX!
Do not worry about the surface dirt and we can always talk about this when you receive the buckle.
Ask the seller though for an image of the aluminium claws without that scrap of belt in place.
Regards,
David
I am with David, for me a nice original Assmann, though pics of the prongs would confirm this for sure but I am confident the buckle is ok
Ben
Thx for your help.
I am asking the seller for photos of prongs...
It seems that the price would be 200 bucks...I think it´s good. Isn´t it? I have seen many similar buckles from 300-400 bucks, but this one has that strange surface and is anything but not mint...
Your opinion on price (eventually originality) would be still very welcome.
I am sorry for not posting additional photos, but I picked a quarrel with a seller because of something else (NSKK dagger) and accordingly I gave up asking him for more photos. Buy I hope there wont be a problem with originality.
I think $200 is a very good price, I would bite his arm off at that price
Ben
