Met a guy today with an SS buckle

I met a guy today who was wearing an SS belt buckle that his grandpa brought back while He was in Germany apparently. It was marked 'JFS'. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that this is a rare variant. Is it? I just want to know if I should have tried to buy it from him or not. It looked original to me, minty too.

An SS buckle by JFS is IMO hard to find! Can you post pictures of the Buckle?! That would help to say if it´s good...!

I didn't get any pictures of it, I met him at a hardware store.

It looked good to me. I don't know the defining features of this variant but it looked sharp and original. If it is fake, then it is a very good fake.

I reckon youd be lucky to buy it from him, he obviously wears it for some reason, either in memory of his granddad, or to be contraversial, or it may even be holding his pants up, either way i doubt hed sell it but try it , he can only say no

Perhaps I'll run into him again one day. I saw him at Lowe's buying screws. Let's hope he needs more soon!

I have had 3 jfs ss buckles and yes they are sought after, as far as i know there arent any repro JFS ss buckles yet to my knowledge but if reasonable get it bought and throw in a nice new leather belt for the guy , rgds Dave
