Well guys, for me blown up the edges are still sharp so for me not a reflection, a question we will never find the answer to

IMO just a normal buckle with reflection, that's all. I attached a highlight around the normal buckle, which in my opinion helps to notice the eagle in it etc.

It could be that he's using a salvaged civilian belt with a different type of buckle, and is only wearing the SS buckle over top of it to satisfy regulation.

That's very plausible. I think it's pretty impossible to answer this issue more clearly.

I also think its a normal SS buckle, with a reflection on the belt leather next to it, creating the illusion of an elongated shiny buckle.

Yeah, that's exactly what I see.
