In the "SS Makers" data base that Ben so skillfully assembled, there is the inclusion of Friedrich Keller, Oberstein a. d. Nahe.

Without wishing to be patronising, I wonder how many collectors actually know this particular and extremely rare SS buckle ?

Attached are images of a DJ buckle which has the UE mark for Friedrich Keller. Of particular interest to the DJ is the very narrow and brazed on catch, together with the clear opening within the seam of the pin shroud.

Attached are images of the so called "Keller SS" and which in simpatico to the DJ, has a very narrow and brazed on catch, together with a clear opening within the seam of the pin shroud.

Quod Erat Demonstrandum - that both buckles are from the same maker ?

    Regards,

    David

The oil theory sounds good, would make sense!
