    I think you would get more info on the SS Uniforms and insignia forum to be honest, they would know more about the markings on there

    THANKS, BEN. AS SAID, THERE ARE NO MArkings on the fittings and on the leather, a familiar set of marks as seen on cross straps, vert. dagger hangers, tornisters, bedroll straps and the like. '1/36' appears of a lot of ss leather goods, I believe.

    There doesn't seem much info about for leather belts, I had similar troubles over an SS marked belt recently. I think they are just not that common and there aren't many examples to compare to. Add to that the ease of stamping up leather from original stamps, well, it makes it all so confusing.

    Reading the WAF threads, just goes to show that even experts can't guarantee anything, sometimes it comes down to opinions and gut feelings...

    I think the original threads point to a lot of variance around 1936, so no hard and fast standard...

    No idea, it's rare because not for the front. Pouches are "easy" to find at 140 €, for this, I don't know.
