I think it´s a fake! The surface around the eagle/rope looks bad!

i was looking at the maker mark, looked nicely detailed as i seen once with more flat maker mark
i could have got burned on this one as well, it just looks good

It could be original, from the pics the aluminium looks grey, I cannot see the prong sleeve properly which what I look for to tell original from fake

I really know next to nothing about SS, however I happened to come across the discussion on this buckle on another familiar forum. The consensus seems to be original.

Adam, it may well be original but for me until I saw the prongs I would not really state, if you look at the body of the buckle from the rear there does not seem to be many casting flaws but I aways look at the pin shroud and prongs to determine originality, I also cannot see the crimp line below the prongs which is another thing I look for, depends on how you learn to identify fakes
