You should also check out the belt and see if there are any marking. I see what looks like makers markings. You could be lucky and have an SS marked belt. I have gotten Kriegsmarine and Postschutz mark belts with Heer buckles. Never been lucky enough to find an SS marked belt.

Well Sure enough there are the Assman markings, They were very faint so they were impossible to see without taking the belt off. As far as markings on the belt, one of the photos I added shows the faint markings left, all I can make out is the 1942 date. I went ahead and picked up the belt and buckle for $250 today, the price is why I was worried, but it seems like I got a deal. How much would one like this usually sell for? I am keeping it in my collection, but I am just curious how good I did.

You got a very good deal at $250. I have an identical buckle with about 90% of it paint intact. I value that at $450-550. With the wear on your buckle $350-400 + around $75 for the belt.

Very very good deal at that price
