hi, its a duffer in my opinion, Fake imho save your money!
Hello and welcome to the forum, to me it looks like a unmarked fat eagle SS buckle that has been battered and maybe even in a fire or ground dug. There is another example in the SS makers thread, give me a couple of hours to get sorted out and I will have a good look at the pics, but at the first glance for me original

Isn't the fact that the outer rope isn't visible between the eagle's right wing and the back of his head an indicator of beeing fake?
I taught that original buckles all have that piece of rope visible there.
Thank you for reply. I will be waiting for any informations.
well i bow to Ben's knowledge he for sure knows his buckles!!
Ben, i clearly need some more of your private test/exams in order to learn some more! lol
Hello,
a nice nickelsilver buckle with real patina .
It's called "fat eagle" type . Early broduced SS buckle with no marker marking .
IMO 100% original .
Regards ,
Markus

Have you bought the buckle yet or are you planning on buying it? A hard buckle to get hold of to be honest, shame its in the condition its in, but for the right price still worth having
