Hi John Paul and welcome to the forum, easiest way is to look at the bumps on the wings on the front of the buckle, the fakes are very slight where the originals are quite pronounced, look at this picture, the priginal is on the right

Another way is the makers mark, on the originals they have a flaw where the circles on the SS have a slight error and they are not complete where on the fakes they are complete

Thanks Ben. I see now, but it takes alot of very close examination. also I have found the fake for sale & have purchased one for comparison.
