Well this alu 36/40 is dangerous and very well copied ,so that should be very careful !

More opinion guys just to be sure , please?

I do not agree! From these images I would say the buckle is a casted fake! The dull and grey colour of the metal, the surface like an orange skin - these are bad signs.

Can you provide us with measurements of the buckle?

Measurements will surely help. I think Guido is correct....but let's see what the measurements are...please be as specific as possible!

I dont like it either, I believe it is a cast fake, the measurements will tell if original or not.

after looking at some originals vs fakes, i change my mind, i think it's fake. the metal does have this "orange skin" look to it with the metal being slightly porous and all the originals i see are very smooth. i'm going to keep in mind the fact that most german militaria are very well made. here is a link i'm using SS Belt Buckles - Original vs. Fake
