Unless I am missing the point to me this is an original buckle, I cannot see any cast flaws and the prong sleeve is correct, is this a new fake out? For the guys that say its a fake can someone point out as to why or PM me please?
Cheers

What about the belt and markings ? Thanks.
Better feelings with the new pics, Ben are right, no clear traces of casting process only a slight punctured surface between oak leaves and the inner rope in the buckle reverse, I don't like the fact that the wear of the front reliefs don't match with the almost mint coat of paint, repainted buckle?
Anyway some SS aluminum buckles sometimes end up giving me a headache
Best regards
Iván
These new picts are better; here I would say it's ok. Appearentely there are no clear signs of casting.. There are without doubt excellent repro of this buckle on the market; Anyway I think this one is ok.
What let me wonder about the originality is the rough surface of the inner side; it doesnt' look the typical brightning white aluminium used wartime. It might be also picts, but I feel not 100% sure about the originality.
A little headache for me also.
Have you had a look through this thread? I will try and have a good look later, I like the hook to me that is original, if the buckle is original there is a good chance the markings are
Fake SS leather markings ( belt & cross straps D rings etc)
