I can't profess to be a SS officer expert...but I'm surprised to see an RZM mark on the buckle along with the early Overhoff markings......I unfortunately feel like this one is a reproduction piece? I'm just not getting the warm and fuzzies on this one - but I could be wrong!
Hopefully more opinions will follow....
Rob
Hi Rob ,
I am no expert also but I was told by a couple of people that the marking represents a "transitional" buckle : from pre-RZM to RZM period . But you know they could be wrong . lets see what happens .

An interesting buckle, although like Rob, I am no expert on SS Leaders.
I do like this buckle and I think that it original, although again, one of the SS specialists may prove me wrong. There are some constructional rather than design features that I particularly like, although I have not handled many of these rare beasts.
The two piece nickle silver SS is now faked.
I have attached images of what I suppose is the first generation of this potentially super fake. The trio of markings are wrong, however it is probably intentional to later dignify and support the fakes with the "correct" trio of markings.
Assume that these nickle silver fakes will eventually appear with all the known variations of markings, to include that shown on the buckle that Dave posted.
Regards,
David
i dont know if it really means anything, but i noticed the buckle was not centerd when the edge was crimped over to the back plate. its only off a little.

Hello You might want to find a Feuerwehr buckle. They have nickle officers catches and you could add them to the buckle.

Hi Kirby I prefer to leave it as is . I Thank You for the info !!
