9-fingered liner???

Does this liner look ok? I thought they were supposed to have 8 fingers instead of nine. Thanks.

Large liners often have 9 fingers.

Larger liners do sometimes have nine fingers. I hav a 66 with nine fingers. This liner is a repro? Where is the stitching in the back?

This one is not an M31 liner, genuine or repro. It does not have an outer liner band, look how the chinstrap is attached. It is more like a liner from a Luftschutz helmet, but is incorrect for that also. My guess is bad repro smeared with mud.

Big M31 liners do sometimes have 8.5 or 9 fingers though as has been said.

I noticed the lack of stitching as well, it's a worry more than the 9 fingers.

Is it in a WW1 shell, like an m18?

9 fingers aren't impossible, it all depends on the manufacturer. In fact, it's a nice sign of authenticity as the fakers always produce liners with 8 fingers.

These are logic modifications seen with very large liners... If you think that is weird, I have one with 7 fingers. A very small size (55). 8 fingers are seen most of the time with every size of liner in between.
