i got this in a lot i bought at auction, it was between the pages of an old book, i thought these were fantasy pieces, but before i dismiss this as fake i would like your opinions.

Complete fantasy, never existed as a decal and almost never seen as a hand painted application. I have never seen a period picture showing either type.

Just as i thought, i never saw a period photo either, just wanted to be absolutly sure before i made a final decision. Thanks

How large/small is it ?

Could it be for a plastic model kit ?

It's 2 inches wide by 2.5 inches long.

At that size, I believe it was most likely made as a helmet decal.
Interesting though, even if it is not original.............

These are sold through various sites providing fake decals, had one myself that a friend gave me to put on his repro helmet, didnt bother, i believe there may be something similar that was put on some vehicles via a stencil, but i dont see one going on a helmet.

Fantasy item. Loupe it to 20x and you probably see stitching effect of print.
