    Hi Guys,

the other M42 with the red crayon cleaned up really nice. Tomorrow I recieve a chinstrap to go along with it. Once it is finished I will post it.
This one I normally wouldnt buy, but it was so cheap and it interested me.

The drawings on it look old and I was liking the thought that maybe someone painted the Dutch flag on it right after the war to celebrate liberation. But maybe it was just trashed by someone a couple of years ago . In that case I could sell it for parts

Any thought on the paint? Also it is a really thin chinstrap, any thoughts on that?

    Thanks again

The paint looks quite old to me, you may be right in your assumption. Chinstrap is weird but it could be period.

Is the liner split? I may be interested in the liner if you decide to sell it, depending on size etc

Liner is split indeed. leather is in ok shape, supple. It is a size 66 (na 58).
Marked 1940. For now I hang on to it, but who knows...
