As already said, a "repurposed" Norway reissue, you can still see the Norwegian ink stamp in the last picture.
Nevertheless, for $50 that's a bargain, from time to time I do buy the odd post war messed with helmet to sell as parts and I wouldn't hesitate on this one, if you want to put in the work, of course.
The red-brown dye can easily be removed with acetone, the paint is tricky to remove though, but maybe you will find a nice Norwegian reissue beneath the paint.
It's up to you though if you want to put in all that work.
Though if you want to you could also acquire the helmet and I'd buy it from you

Agreed with all the others.
50$ is a good price, completely paintless but intact Shells sell for arround 100 in Germany, so a Messed with Norwegian Issue that could have Original Norwegian, or even WW2 Paint on it is a good deal.
