    they look like bullet holes to me,,,thats a lot of energy to pierce the helmet and come out the other side,,shrapnel usually makes jagged,torn holes,,,these exit holes look to me like the are from bullets,,,,

    they are bullet holes, possibly the round was spiralling at the time or its just flattened on impact but shrapnel would not cause a reaction on the exit like that

    wouldnt that be fragmentation not shrap unless the shell was full of ball bearings just an observation nice lid though
