Black M42

Good afternoon guys. I had a fellow trying to find out more about a helmet that contacted me. I believe it's a post war painted M42. The black paint doesn't show much wear. The liner has me a bit stumped. Any of you guys ever see one of these? This is the first time I have posted pics so let's hope it works.

This was the type of helmet used in the Nazi Space Program.............. !

As Jim says below, M42 with post war paint and liner, Latvia or Czech
civic use. There are a ton of these lids on ebay.

Seriously though....Post war painted M42 with a post war, home made rehash of some form of civic liner. Liner band is 2nd model (rounded D-rings) probably original, would have had to have been removed to have the new 'liner' attached, not sure about the chinstrap. All in all a very messed with lid with very, very little value.

Yes, it's not worth much at all. The liner doesn't seem like a period civic liner but maybe early post war period. Thanks for the thoughts!

Guys, this appears to be a post-war Czech reissue. Post-war Czech black paint, Post-war Czech civic liner, and original wartime German shell.

It's basically worth its value as an original unpainted shell, maybe $100 at max.

Yeah thats right, just a czech refurb lid. Not worth a great deal at all
