You are corrects Steve. A half decent or high end fake Luftwaffe decal was on that lid it might actually fool someone. This is why my wife isn't allowed to buy me helmets, or any items, because she would never know the difference.

the bird decal looks very futuristic to me. just if the german had have won the war. it could have been the 3rd pattern for the 4th reich on a ddr helmet. but at the end of the day its not a good helmet and i think the rest have said what they think.
