Hi, well that is different I must say. I have not seen a "cammo" like that before, but it does appear to have some age to it! The wear looks pretty consistant and the colours are also similar to those on WW1 "turtle" cammo helmets. I would not like to say one way or the other if this is a genuine period cammo, but it stands a chance in my opinion. Leon.

I am not yet convinced. Can we see some close ups of the holes where the split pins would have been and the edges of the apron. The paint looks good at first glance, but the interior and the edges of the splint pin holes give me some pause. Jim G.

I have never seen any photo's showing German soldiers wearing a camo helmet like that.

Agree with Jim. There's more than 1 red flag here.

Looks like this lid was camoed up with the split pins removed...
