Captured helmets

    if there were still that many lids available they would not be worth so much now but of course back then to them they were nothing more then junk !!!!!

    Hi,
    Did you know these were dirt cheap in the sixties, I bought my first M1 U.S, helmet for £3.00, and my first German 40 Patt
    for £6.00, they were the days, you could buy anything as it was all plentyfull.

    I remember back in the mid seventies seeing racks of German helmets (not sure what model - I was a kid)....I think they were M42's.....none had any decals. They were $25 bucks each....I wanted one - my dad said "no way! too expensive".....if only we would have known!

    NIce pics. I have a US Army Press photo that is similar in nature to yours which shows two G.I's going through a huge pile of captured German Rifles.

    If ever a time machine is invented? im going back to snag those rifles.
