    looking at this photo makes me close my eyes-----------------mmmmm i,m diver,slowly sviming through this mountain...........different decals blind my eyes

    my grandfather was one of those U.S. soldiers in Germany after the war doing what he always called "clean up duty" one of the things that he alway remembered was burning warehouses full of leather goods, jackets and such. Said you could smell it miles away and alway broke his heart. I can't imagine what kind of treasures would be in those warehouses. Just like those helmets, everything connected to the war would have been erased based on some directive.

    This are the picture's off the helmet's off "the big hole" in Holland. My M40 is part off it.

    Its my understanding that this helmets were burried in a big hole, later discovered by diggers in Holland and named "the big hole" hundreds of helmets of all kind! See link below:
