if we could find in ground a hole with 1000 helmets.....it would be nice
An uncle of mine served in the Phillipines during WWII and picked up a couple of Jap swords. He traded one for a nice M42(?) double decal Heer that looked brand new, probably unissued. He let me play with it as a kid. Years later when I learned the value of such things I tried to find out what happened to it but nobody knew. My hope is that it has a nice home in a collection somewhere. If only I had known!

Double Decal M42.....It must have been a combat police helmet! I'm still looking for one of these myself. Unisssued: whoa.....
Oh: I just saw the question mark after the M42.....in order for it to be a DD M42 - it would have to be a combat police helmet.
If it had army decals and tri-colour shield - it was most probably an M35
Cheers!
