Hi Hal, I have to be honest and say that I think the whole helmet may be fake. The ET makers stamp looks very poor and this makers M42's are usually stamped CKL. The cammo underneath the wire looks to have been sanded down before the wire was applied! All in all, I would pass on this helmet. Leon.

Hi, could you explain a little more please so that I understand what I have missed? Leon.
I have to admit that the liner and chinstrap look okay...but for sure I'd want to have a good hard look at the wire and camo.
Stupid question...but was the wire put on, then the camo? Looks like the wire was painted also at one time. Or was it a common practice to camo up the wire also?
I have never seen the chicken wire painted before, only on a fake white wash that was sold on eBay.
Lazy paint job?
