Chicken Wire Helmet, What do you Think ?

I agree, the rust doesn't look to active at all, and matches the wire. Plus doesn't look like any paint transfer to the wire, so its not likely fakers painted it and then pushed the wire in to get the marks. Good soild wear marks. Well its what I think anyways

i would say it is a good solid buy the wire matches the marks on the helmet in most places

That still doesn't explain the overpaint of the factory paint , even if a reissue it would only be the exterior that would have been repainted or up till the linerband at the most.
The new owner must like it for himself but I would not have paid money for this helmet.
