Combat Helmet Liner?

Hi Gents this came as part of a auction lot.
Helmet liners are not my strong suit.

The highlights-
on the outside metal band it states "56" (leather is stamped 55)
"Schbert werk k.g D.R.P 1940" line underneath is impossible to make out

Never owned a German helmet with such a dark colored liner its a deep brown/orange color

it looks like it has 2 metal bands inside one another the inside once is painted grey

What do you guys think, is it legit and if so what model lids would this be put in.

it is standard construction german helmet liner - German-Helmets.com
the leather color is probably result of cleaning / preserving agents

thanks meyle, the leather is super nice, def was conditioned at some point.

with this fit most combat helmets m35 ect, will probably put in my projects section

A good one. They are getting pricey. Last show (Ag Hall Allentown) they were priced in the $150 to $200 range. NH

Original liner - for an average size 64 helmet
- but the colour of the leather looks like
the Norwegian type.........

Absolutely Norwegian reissue..... the brass domed head pins ( seen in the 5th photo ) give the game away. German made liners ALWAYS had the flat head aluminium pins
