I am sorry, but I do not think this is a real M18 Ear Cut Out. War time manufactured Ear Cut Outs were all ET 64 shells. There is some speculation that some were made during the interwar years, but I seem to recall that those that some think are real are size 66, like the one in the Baer German language treatise, and I don't think they were maker marked. The flare on this one is not pronounced enough, and the rolled rims on the cut out sections are too crudely done. I also do not like the paint, although the adler decal does look pretty good. Finally, I think the liner is a repro. Sorry, but I just do not like this one. Jim G.
Agreed.
The decal looks like a later model, more like you'd see on a M40/42.... The swastika has an almost 3D effect......the helmet looks like a repro....there are a lot of these type of repros being made in Germany in th last 10 years! The rolled edge of th helmet looks sloppy....
Agreed with all of the above
Krikke you should definitely get some helmet books.
eeek, bad to the bone
I would stay away from that website really bad.

Hello Kris
You should do exactly as Schwerpunkt suggested & get some good reference books. This helmet & the others that
You have recently posted are all grade "A" stinkers.
Regards
Brett
