all looks good to me I have seen the bird decals come off like this one especially if they were no applied properly also the chin strap does appear to be an add on. I like this helmet

Even if the chinstrap were a repro, for $400 it was a good buy.
Perhaps you can put up some more photos,
now that you own it.........? !

I like the look of the chinstrap personally, however I am terrible at making judgements on them. Decals, shells, liners, and paint are more of my thing...


Anyway, if the chinstrap is original, it is not original to the helmet. It could have been a wartime addition, but I think it is much more likely that a collector added it himself.

Well done , good decals. Good DD Luftwaffe in general. The strap is most surely an add-on. There are lot of these kind of straps out there in unworn condition , I'm still undecided whether these are WW2 produced or produced to deceive post war. But that doesn't matter the helmet is a nice original and will help people to reconsider the comments they made in this topic.

Great work on this one, I'd be proud of it. RB numbered chinstrap is definitely late war or collector added.
