Hi mate, I'm afraid the decals for sure, and maybe paint too are bad on this one. The liner is a real German one but used and dyed brown / red by Norway post-war. The zig-zag black lines in the feather of the bird are a give away of this fake decal, and it has the look of a sticker on the paint, rather than a real decal that would be nested right into the paint. Note the swirly abrasive patterns on the shield too, as they tried to put some age into it.
The liner is definitely a Norwegian re-work...
I agree with whats already been said i'm afraid. The national decal also has a mis-shaped turn at the bottom left too.The liner also really sticks out as a dyed norway job and they would not have gone to the trouble of doing that and then left original 3rd reich decals on the lid.
I concur, fake decals, Norwegian dyed liner, and questionable paint
Brad.
Not that it matters but the interior paint looks green. All bad anyway. Save your money. Where did you find this lid?
great forum, thanks guys.I know the liner is Norway, but for the rest I was not sure.
It was offered to me last weekend and I take it at home for findings. No Problem I give it back.
again thanks
Out of curiosity how much were they asking for it?
first offer 550,-Euro
