dry rot treatment

Article about: My nice lufty liner was afflicted with the dry rot. I read that 2% hydroxypropylcellulose in isopropanol is used on leather books to prevent further deterioration. So I tried it on my liner

Update: The treatment stiffened the leather up a bit and prevented the liner from just flopping out. I did not notice any more magic leather dust falling off after several days on the shelf. Now I can go blind handling the liner w/o it falling apart.

Thanks for the update Pablo , have you sniffed the leather again ? Still a product smell or not ?

Did the sniff test and did not detect any odor, but I have a very poor sense of smell anyway. I'll ask the mother-in-law to sniff my helmets......she can smell things that don't even exist.
