Hi Nathan, for me this is a good early "droop tail" LUFTWAFFE M35. The national shield shows a nice level of "crazing" to it. I cannot see any chips/wear running underneath either decal so I think they are good. The liner is the correct earlier "square bale" type and is in a similar condition to the shell, I also like the chinstrap, so I think you have a goer at that price. Leon.
Good lid good price go for it!
Its mine! Thanks. More pics to come!
good one.
Here she is! Double decal M35 Luftwaffe ET 66 (sorry didn't get a pic in my excitement), with early "Drooptail" decal. I think I got a good deal on it at the local flea market, and to find it there is just amazing IMO. This officially makes this my best flea day. I am certain that I know why all of the liner retaining pins are loose, as it appears to have once been covered in a wire basket. To bad it no longer remains! Its definitely been well used during the war, as it has the been there done that appearance.
I am also glad that I was able to look, and form my own opinion, and have it get the thumbs up here. Thanks to all who chimed in. Any way, hope you enjoy!
Bargain good job.
Great price. Nice salty helmet. My local flea markets consist of little militaria. And what does show up is grossly over priced. I yearn for the day I find a helmet at a flea market!
Wow that is a great flea market find!!! It definatly looks like it had a wire around it, everything on it rates around 80% and the chin strap looks original also, a dealer would list this one around 900, 66 is a perfect size too, you got a awesome helmet for a awesome price! nice to see us little guys win once it awhile!
I noticed the papers it is sitting on in the first set of pics, did this originaly come from Dave S?
Actually I do not think it is the same helmet. Just used as a representative I guess.
