Article about: One I've had for a while but was playing with photos today trying to get some better photos. My light box is setup for pistols and getting the glare down on some lids is tricky.

    Thanks all for the comments. I was really trying to get some good photos of a SD Heer M35 that was re-decaled at some point and now is DD Police but with the original finish it reflects a great deal.

    Very nice photos! What are you using as a light source and how are you diffusing the light to avoid glare if you don't mind my asking. Thanks, Bob

    Bob,

    I'm using 6 1600 lumens daylight bulbs being turned into two photo umbrellas and the umbrellas are directed through a layer of white muslin fabric. I have to set a long shutter exposure but so far it's the best configuration for helmets I've found. Most helmets that have any texture are no issue but the smooth helmets or glossy paint causes issues.
