Re: ET66 M40 Heer Coastal Artillery Helmet fromHKB 33/ 977 Rossland, Norway
I guess I should clarify that HKB is the abbreviation for Heeresküstenartillerie. This was therefore an Army battery, not a Navy one. There were many army and navy batteries interspersed along the Norwegian coast. This caused some confusion, particularly during the commando raid on Vågsø and Måløy in 1941, when Naval signals did not think to inform the Heer coastal battery of the impending raid.
HKB 33/ 977 Rossland (14/ 750 )
Equipped with 4 x 21 cm Mrs 18, range 16 000 m. Ready in Nov 43. Also equipped with 1x4,5cm Pak.® and 3 x 2cm Flak 38
Here is an one of these enormous 21 cm Mörser 18 howitzers at a different battery in Norway.

Cool! Just like families-one went Army and the other brother joined the Navy! It's great that you have the pair back together again!

Nice comparisons Scott, I'm not sure if anyone has handled more shipboard grey helmets than you!
