Re: Exiting chicken wire, and zeltbahn
I am not even going to pretend I know anything about collecting helmets or the twist of the chicken wire, but I do know rust. There should be a lot more damage to the zelt from the rust. The little that is there is only a few months worth and the fading can be done chemically and with heat lamps in a week or so. Just my 2 cents

A total put together lid. Nice maybe for a reenactor.

Re: Exiting chicken wire, and zeltbahn
Most modern chicken wire is made today in "American" pattern twist. Old wire in European twist can still be found on occasion. A customer of mine, who actually kept chickens, had a small roll of old style wire, which I scrouged from her (she thought I was nuts!) and sold bits to re-enactor friends who I knew well. She was really happy as we split the money. I still have a small peice left.
Cheers, Ade.
