Re: Extremely Salty Luftwaffe M42
I would say its a semi relic MO, its not rusted to the point of holey plus there is a CS and relic liner and a faded decal

Re: Extremely Salty Luftwaffe M42
I personally only consider helmets relics if they are removed from the ground, others base it on condition.

Re: Extremely Salty Luftwaffe M42
I'd say semi relic and i like it!..

Re: Extremely Salty Luftwaffe M42
What seller was it?
That decal just reminds me of an airbrushed type decal on a relic that was shown here recently.....just my humble opinion

Re: Extremely Salty Luftwaffe M42
Nice 'semi-relic' Luft helmet for the money, Mo......... !

Re: Extremely Salty Luftwaffe M42
These days it would cost you close to that for a chinstrap anyway so i think you have done ok as long as the strap is a good one.I can see the strap has been cut down and it does look in much better condition than the remains of the liner,do you think that it has been added to the helmet at a later date?

Nice pickup Mo!
Dan
I just scored a similar one ( shell only ) but a bit more salt on mine!

Re: Extremely Salty Luftwaffe M42
I agree with the semi-relic description on this one too Mo.
As already stated, the chinstrap is almost worth what you paid for it, which isn't a bad investment in
my opinion.
Brad.
