Hi,
I bought this from a guy in Italy, it looked great in the pics and even when I received it, until some experts gave me a well deserved lesson. I sent it back and was promised a full refund plus all postage; it was a lesson well learned. He is still doing business there so just beware of this one if you see it somewhere else. It's easy to identify because the wire is broken on the top.

I doubt they'd fool many people on here but heres the lacquer ones that decalhelmet do
Anytime you see the cuts on the party decal coming from different directions, plus with no paint loss underneath, you just know it has to be artificial. When I was a younger collector I would have fallen for these helmets. It is amazing how much you can learn just from holding an authentic one.

Thats a good point, any idea what manufacturer the decals are trying to replicate? Regards Matt

Thought as much, thanks
Thanks to some guys on the forum I can now establish this as being a fake, I guess its fairly obvious to those with experience though, unlike myself
I'm not 100% certain but I'd be surprised if these weren't fakes, all were listed on ebay
The way you can tell the helmet's decals are fake is quite simple. Here are a few red flags on the double decal that stick out immediately: rounded bottom on the SS decal, swastika too large for party decal, no border on either decal, upper portion of runes too long on SS decal. The list goes on and on. Never buy or even think about buying an SS helmet unless from a reputable dealer. Even then, I would post it on the forum to get opinions. I dare say there are 5000 fake SS helmets to every 1 authentic one.
