Fake/Modern Rust?

If he is selling it on Flea bay he knows it's a repro , a real one in relic conditions will still go for a large amount and wouldn't be getting sold in the helmet cess pit !!

Thats exactly what i thought! Ive been after one for a while to display with some of my german helmets, and this one will fit in nicely as its not a repro that looks to new or too "relicy". I doubt i'll ever be able to afford a real one so im quite happy.

Flea bay cant be written of completely though, in the last year myself and James have picked up a pickelhaube (which needs restoring i will admit) for £8. And a WW2 British para helmet which came about from buying something from it.
